37 units in Germany.Since 2020, Orbital Shower has been installed in various Green Tiny Villages. Currently, there are 37 showers in Harz, Harlesiel, Salemer See, Hooksiel, and Schillig, contributing to a more sustainable tourism model.
The origins of Green Tiny Houses
The idea for Green Tiny Houses started in 2018 when Jan, the founder, came across the technology behind Orbital Shower. This sparked the concept of creating eco-friendly accommodations that prioritize resource conservation. The first village opened in the summer of 2020, as part of an effort to integrate sustainability into tourism. The concept was designed to balance comfort and ecological responsibility, offering guests an opportunity to experience sustainable living firsthand.
Supporting environmental goals
The circular water system of Orbital aligns with Green Tiny Houses’ broader goal of sustainable resource use. It offers guests a tangible experience of how sustainability can be integrated into everyday actions. This real-world application helps foster a deeper understanding of conservation efforts among visitors.
Tourism typically sees higher levels of water and energy consumption compared to regular households, but the Orbital system helps mitigate this by reducing the resources used per guest.
A diverse guest profile
Green Tiny Houses attract a wide range of guests—couples, families, solo travelers, and groups of friends—many of whom are discovering sustainability for the first time during their stay. Some are drawn specifically by the eco-friendly approach, while others simply enjoy the unique experience and learn about sustainability through it.
The partnership between Orbital and Green Tiny Houses reflects a shared commitment to reducing the environmental impact of tourism while enhancing the guest experience.
